Tips & Tricks - How to Fill Your Simulator's IV Bag with Distilled Water


The following tips for filling IV bags for your patient simulation are relatively simple, but essential!

  1. Use a tube feeding bag (or an empty IV bag and cut a slit across the top)                                        
  2. Fill with distilled water
  3. Attach IV tubing from the distilled water reservoir to an empty IV bag
  4. Open the roller clamp and fill the empty IV bag.
  5. Plug the filled IV bag with IV tubing or a golf tee.
